Spring break is flying by much faster than the school weeks usually do. Why is that? I’ve been staying busy though. I did a little spring cleaning around the house, finished some sewing projects, and organized my teacher files on the laptop too. Filing all of my great downloads into my digital file folders inspired today’s post. Here are some of my recent favorites that I’ve found around the web.
You’re probably already familiar with Classroom Freebies and Classroom Freebies Too. They’re both sites where teacher-bloggers can post their own great freebies. However, there’s a new resource out there called 3-6 Free Resources. This one is especially useful to me because the freebies are geared toward the intermediate grades. If you aren’t already following the three of those, you definitely should check them out. Now on to some specific items…
My math class loved, loved, loved this Measurement Hop freebie from Luckeyfrog’s Lilypad. It uses little plastic bunnies from the Target dollar spot and you get SIXTEEN for a $1. My assistant thought the lesson was so cute so I ran out and scooped up the last two sets of bunnies for her to use in her future classroom.
Keeping with the math theme, my students are also loving the Multiplication Knock It Off Boards from Dots N Spots. She also has addition and subtraction versions. I didn’t have any of the twelve-sided dice, but I grabbed some on Amazon pretty cheap.
Moving on to reading, I found a cute Fairy Tale Scavenger Hunt over at Mrs. Bainbridge’s Class. To wrap up their traditional literature unit, she sent her students off to collect fairy tale items. They had to identify which fairy tale they were from when they brought the items back.
Finally, we’ve discussed having more family nights at our school. We already do a Bingo for Books night, but we’ve tossed around the idea of doing other content areas too. Second Grade Cup of Tea posted her free Science Night Files. How awesome is that?
There are tons of great resources out there if you’re willing to look for them. *My* next free item is coming up later tonight as my April Facebook Fan Freebie. See you on Facebook!

Oh wow! You just made my day 🙂 I'm so glad your class enjoyed the activity! Thank you SO much for featuring me on your blog!
