I’m planning to use more centers in my leveled math class this year. I already use Take It To Your Seat Math Centers
and am really happy with them, but I wanted more of a variety. That resulted in this cute little scene in my living room last weekend.
Not so cute, I know. Fortunately, my husband helped so it didn’t take us too long. While a few of the centers were mine (like my Solve N Slide One and Two), several of them were freebies I grabbed during the TpT Jackpot before summer started and a few were purchases from TpT too. I’m realizing that I need a several more, especially for the beginning of the year.
I’m breaking the rules for just this post and allowing you to add products with your comments below. I’ll go first. Some of my favorite math centers are from Ashleigh and Amber. I love their task cards and can easily mix and match them with different games. What are your favorite math centers for third grade? Are they on TpT or something you’ve purchased from a store?
Farley put our her August currently today. I’m sort of in denial that it’s really August. Didn’t we *just* get out of school for summer?
As you can see, I’m all over the place this month. Half of me is ready for Back to School and the other half of me wants another month of summer to work on my blog designs and hang out with my new nephew (love him!!). But ready or not, the 13th is looming so I need to get in gear!
That brings us to our back to school must haves. I redecorated my desk this year. I know, I know. Decorate a desk? Um, YES!! This also relates to must have #3, polka dots. I decided to move away from a classroom theme and go with colors/patterns this year. We are bright polka dots all the way. After I made over our room, my desk felt blah. It was still primary colors and apples, which I liked, but it just didn’t go with the new theme. I spruced it up with bright accessories, polka dots, and glittery pens/pencils holders. Soooo much better. Here are a few pics of my previous finds, but I just scooped up a few more this morning at Hobby Lobby.

My desk is going to sparkle! |
My other B2S must have is the Silhouette Cameo. I’ve blogged about it a little before here for bulletin board letters and here for my Do It All Clock. I am in LOVE with this little machine. They just released a fabric cutting blade so I plan to put that puppy to use too. It’s kind of pricey, but soooo worth it. I love that I can cut any fonts of clip art already on my computer and don’t have to buy cartridges like with the Cricut machine. Goodbye ugly die cuts!
I could chat all day, but this post is going to win the award for longest blog post ever if I don’t stop. Go… link up. You know you want to!

Thanks for sharing! I found you on the August Currently. I love and am inspired by your Math Centers! Come and check out my Currently!

I agree! Your font is precious!! I've got a Cricut, but I've heard so many people talking about the Cameo…it kind of makes me want to get one, too!!

Not only am I feeling the blog-pressure to get a personal laminator, but I'm also feeling it to get a Cameo!
& I have sets of task cards in my shop that are aligned to the 3rd grade common core standards. I have a set for number sense, mult/division (free), fractions, and area/perimeter so far!

I've been wanting a silhouette but I can seem to justify the money. The Robert I read abut them, the closer I come to buying one thinking that it will save men money in the long run! Love your math center advice!
