It’s time for this month’s Currently! I really like these because as much as I love following blogs for great teaching ideas, I also appreciate getting to know the teachers behind them a little better too. Plus, this month’s features a favorite fall-themed book.
I’m
not even going to touch the debate. I just think education needs help… but it just seems to get lost in the shuffle.
Anyway, I am loving this fall
weather! The leaves are all so pretty, pumpkins are decorating porches,
and my kids are getting super excited for Halloween. I decorated our
classroom this week and they were so happy to come in and see all of our
festive accessories.
I still
need to decorate my house though. Isn’t that always the way it seems to
go… school first? 🙂 I just haven’t had the energy. I’ve been sick for
two and a half weeks now. I feel like a baby taking naps all the time. I
can’t really complain because it could be so much worse, but at the
same time I’m so tired of this darn cough and stuffy head. I think my
poor husband is ready to get a good night’s sleep too. Why is it the
coughing fits always hit in the middle of the night? I said I wanted
more hours in the day, but truthfully I’d just use them to sleep.
Finally, for this month’s topic I’m linking up an Ed
Emberley book (love him!!). We end October with a quick monster unit
each year, and I’m excited to add If You’re a Monster and You Know It
to my collection this year. It is so, so cute! I promise to get my tail
in gear and finish polishing my spider and monster units so I can share
that with you too before October’s over.
Okay, that’s it… bedtime. Don’t forget to go link up with Farley!

Sounds like a cute book! We actually grew pumpkins and apple gourds this summer (well, only apple gourds successfully), so we already had some decor to put out. I made my hubby bring down the fall wreath I made last year, and we changed out our flag. I probably won't get around to doing anything inside though.
Don't Let The Teacher Stay Up Late
Your book sounds fantastic! I must remember to decorate 🙂
I lived in Cincinnati for 11 years. I miss it sooooo much.

My Second Sense
I totally agree with more hours in a day! It seems like once summer is over the days get shorter and shorter.
I said the same thing about more hours in the day. I just can't seem to "fit it all in." Great call on the book too. I forgot all about this one . . . love it!!!

I totally agree about education being forgotten. It's so sad that it's always under attack or on the back burner when it needs to be at the top of everyone's list. I need to actually get some decorations! My apartment is too bare. Trip to the Target Dollar Spot????

Teaching in the Valley
Thanks for the book tip, that's a new one to me. I am on Fall Break right now and it is so nice to be able to catch up:) It's already Thursday and I am now ready to think about planning for October:) Hope you are 100% soon, I hate lingering sickness:((

I miss having fall. 🙁 I bet the leaves do look beautiful. I hadn't heard of that book either, but it sounds cute, will have to check it out!

Oh! I love Ed Emberly! I need to get out the fall decorations too. I said it would be today, but . . . .
