Currently November

November 3, 2012

November, November, November. Did we even have October?! It’s already time for another Currently. I feel like I‘m all over the place with this one.

This has been the longest week. We had our Halloween party and TWO convocations so our schedule has been crazy. Looking ahead to next week, we have another TWO convocations and a field trip. We also have a teacher’s meeting after school and it’s my allergy shot week. I was sooo ready for this weekend, but I’m already looking forward to the next one too. Just thinking about next week makes me tired all over again. =)

I’ve had a lot going on at home too. My blog designs have kept me really busy this week (can’t wait to share them after I install this weekend… love!). But more recently I’ve been focusing on sewing more because we’re in a bit of a baby boom around here. Sewing is my “down time” away from the computer and I love watching a new piece come together. My husband has grounded me from the fabric store though. Apparently most people aren’t on a first-name basis with all of the cutting clerks. *sigh*

Okay, on to the goods: classroom music. I play music in our classroom fairly often during writing workshop. I do play seasonal/thematic stuff sometimes, but mostly I stick with softer background music. My favorites right now are from the same set, Music for Teachers. There’s one called “Focus” and one called “Calm” but they are both really good. My students ask for them when I forget to turn the CD player on.

I can’t mention music in the classroom without mentioning Polansky’s “Animal Alphabet Songs” though. I love how catchy they are and how well the tone of the music matches each specific animal.

Okay... now go link up with Farley to share your picks too!

I need to clean too! I feel the only reason my house is someone clean is b/c our house is new and much bigger than our apartment, so don't have that much stuff in it yet! 🙂 Enjoy your weekend!

Friday is my catch up on the week's worth of episodes of Ellen as well. Her Halloween show was hysterical! Loved the costume!
