So apparently it’s December. Say what??! My husband and I spent the day shopping. He is such a trooper! I’m happy to have crossed several things off my Christmas list. I’m usually a really early Christmas shopper, but the mood just isn’t quite there this year. The Christmas music is helping though. =) I was happy to come home to Farley’s Currently linky. I just love these because they give a little insight into our personal lives too.
So about my “loving”… Please tell me I’m not the only one who comes home with more than gifts for others though. I’ve been looking for a new purse forever (as in, I’m still carrying my hot pink summer one!) and found a shimmery pewter one that jumped into my arms today. It was love and therefore it had to come home with me. The hubs didn’t even protest, that’s how meant to be it was.
Our little shopping adventure and dinner ended up being an all-day and night affair so I’m feeling a bit behind. I have several blogs to do tomorrow and still need to print, cut, and bag my centers for the week. I love, love, love doing centers but they just take so much time to prepare. It’s a weekly Sunday fun-day routine at our house now. But, the kiddos love them and learn a lot too so it’s worth it. I’ve also stopped laminating them, which saves time too.
Random Act of Kindess time (love this, by the way, and can’t wait to get ideas from everyone else too!). I’ve been doing a little “Secret Santa Money” here and there as the holidays approached. I always love to hear about the people who drop gold coins and things into the Salvation Army buckets each year, or the news story about a waiter who receives a huge tip, those kinds of things. It must feel amazing to be on the receiving end of that. I am by no means capable of dropping gold coins, but the little boost TpT has given our family is something I want to pay forward. My husband is a full-time student so we were living on my teacher’s salary, savings from before my husband decided to go back to school again, and student loans. I started blogging in January totally for fun, but my blog/store has provided a little bonus to our family so I’ve been looking for ways to share that. For example, we gave a 50% tip at our favorite restaurant tonight to a frazzled waiter who was having a hard time with another table. I’m positive he appreciated that and hope it made his night a little brighter. After school Friday, I zipped through McDonald’s and bought a hot chocolate for myself and paid for the car behind me too ( full of bouncing, happy kids and what looked to be a frazzled mother, ha!). We’ll also be able to donate new dog beds to the animal shelter where I rescued my sweet Isabelle several years ago. They’re small gestures, but I think they’ll add up to a little extra joy this season. I know it makes me happy just for giving.
Don’t forget to join Farley’s linky. If you decide not to link up, please do leave a comment here… I’d love to hear about your random acts of kindness!

Hi…I found you through the linky! I completely understand about the purse…I'm slightly obsessed myself and hoping for a new one for Christmas!
I love your RAK…I've paid for someone at Sonic before and it is a neat thing to do.
I'm also your newest follower!
Merry Christmas!!

I love your store about the purse. I am the same way. Christmas shopping usually entails buying something for myself!
Also loved your comments about RAK. I too enjoy doing things for people!

Let me know if you find those centers that take care of themselves!! That'd be awesome. I actually found your blog when I was searching how to add the TpT widget to my sidebar. I wanted to say thanks for the YouTube video!

You Might Be a First Grader…
I don't mind the printing/assembling part…it's all the sneaking I have to do to get them laminated that makes me crazy. (I guess I'm way over my "limit"). I grew up in Ohio, but live in Michigan now. Go Bucks! Sleep is so nice…
