Do you ever leave school feeling like you had one of Alexander’s terrible, horrible, no good, very bad days? Okay, okay… maybe it’s not that bad, but I think we’ve all been there at one time or another after a slump of a day. It seems to happen to me during this time of the year. You know… the cold, wet days of indoor recess piled on top of assessing, assessing, assessing to prepare for the season of testing, testing, testing that’s around the corner. Somewhere in the middle I toss in reteaching, reteaching, reteaching just for fun. Frankly, it’s exhausting. =)
So now’s a
good great time for Jennifer’s “Tell Me Something Good” linky. I love reading all the positive things we have happening in our classrooms and a little sneak peek into our personal happenings too. Here’s mine:
Something Good from School: We’re working really hard to publish our Student Treasures books. We write “big kids” ABC books for ours (more on that later), and this is the first year that I’ve had so many great first drafts. Several of my students were able to skip revisions and head straight to edits. My students are rocking writing workshop this year!!
Something Good from Home: I’m still loving my office. I know, I know… it’s just a room. But it’s *MY* room. I’m so productive in here, the colors are gorgeous, and my last piece of art arrived. It’s a super cute custom piece from a local Etsy seller. I sent her a picture and she turned it into painting. Love her!
Next time you’re in a funk, think of all the positive things happening in your classroom and all the growth your kiddos are making. And tell Alexander to take a hike!

I love that piece of art! It's perfect!! 🙂 Etsy is the best!!

That piece of art is beautiful. What a good idea:) I love your office, too. So, it's ok to love a "just a room" 😉
I LOVE Etsy! I can't wait to see examples/hear more about your big kid ABC books. Sounds like a great idea!
WOW- straight to final drafts! That's AWESOME! I'm dreaming of my future crafty room/office once we find a house. I need a space that can be all ME! I'm so happy you linked up! I do this linky every month so I hope you link up again next month!
