I am a school supply junkie. It’s a badge I wear proudly. Honestly, my husband has to stage an intervention each August. I finally caved and decided to try the pencil sharpener that has been making its rounds around the blogosphere for a while now. Oh. My. Word.
It’s beautiful. =) The blue color is so darn pretty and goes well in my room. But more importantly than that {I suppose, ha!} is that it actually does work. There is a bit of a learning curve {it comes with a video, friends}, but the students caught on quickly. I still have a couple of electric pencil sharpeners (that have been repaired by my aforementioned husband many times), but students stand in line to use this one. It honestly works and doesn’t chew up their pencils. Hooray! Plus, it really is quiet. Win-win!
In case you’ve been under a rock, here’s the link to where you can get one {Or three. Buy three. Trust me.} You might even see one pop up here on Ms. Fultz’s Corner soon. *wink*

I just got one of these too and love it! I just blogged about it yesterday too! 😉 It's the little things that make us happy.

I read another blog about this recently….it's on my wish list!

Christi,
I have the blue shapener also. My principal was in my room yesterday and noticed the sharpener. She asked if I had painted it blue to match my room. Hah! I am famous for painting everything in my room blue – how nice to have something that I didn't have to paint!!!

Love that! I was so pleased with the color too… very happy looking.
I keep hearing so much about this sharpener. I guess I am going to have to cave in and purchase one for my classroom. Thanks for convincing me!

One of my fellow teacher friends just bought three of these babies, and she is equally as obsessed. I think I need to get a couple myself 🙂

I bought three and gave one to a friend – and now sometimes I wish I kept all three! LOL! I love those things~!

I have read about these and sent them to my co-teacher many times. She laughed at me! I bet when I buy it, shell love it too! Pencils are my biggest pet peeve! However, this can't save my classroom from what I call "the pencil monster" who takes the pencil you had in your hand 2 seconds ago and *poof* makes it disappear, nor does it explain the reason my students practically eat erasers!! Those problems will be next on my list to solve

I hate the pencil monster!! Having a great sharpener helps the dull pencil problem, but the pencil monster… he's another story. 😉
I had one of those but it kept falling off the edge of the table no matter how tight I turned the wing nut! Am back to the electric one again – and yes, not so quiet as the manual one!
Bummer. 🙁 I haven't tried to attach mine to anything. I have it on a little plastic cart so the kids just grab it when they need it.
