Classroom Sneak Peeks & MPM Coupon Code!

July 7, 2013

If you aren’t hanging out with me on Instagram {do it, it’s fun!}, you missed out on all of my school updates yesterday. See, my husband and I went out for lunch by my school and decided to grab some things to work on while we were there. Of course, I always get a little carried away and can’t stop.

They haven’t cleaned my room yet, but I was able to snap some close up pictures before the big reveal later this month. I’ve been updating my bulletin boards to match the new polka dot and bright colors I started using last year. You’ve probably seen lots of them popping up in my TpT store as I’m crossing them off my to-do list {almost finished, yay!}.

First up, this is what is directly outside my door and our entire end of the building. The other end was finished last year. New lights and paint are on the way. It made me itch just looking at the mess.

Think it will be ready in a month?

Instead of running away, my hubby insisted that we empty the car. You see, I had this growing collection of “stuff for school” in my home office that needed to be dropped off. First up, we found a purple chair from my college dorm room in the garage. It matches my new classroom colors so I decided to put it in the classroom library. As you can see, Lily took right to it.

We also hauled in poms and lanterns that I had been hoarding storing in my home office since the first week of summer. I won’t tell you how long I directed and redirected my poor husband to hang them up just right.

I had planned to hang up my new genre posters while we were there too, but decided I wanted to print them in a different size. Boo! I did at least get the old ones taken down. Do you see how quickly a trip to “drop things off” turned into work? It’s a sickness.

After that fun, my husband helped me hang up new writing and parts of speech posters. He can do it while standing on a chair whereas I have to climb on a desk and stand on my tip-toes so I try to take full advantage of his height when I can. He also attached my new neon board. I’m really proud of that one, so more details coming soon!

After all that hard work, I treated him to lunch and then an entire day of shopping for more school supplies. =) As you can see, my motto was “When in doubt, buy it all!” because I just couldn’t decide on what colors I wanted. Sigh. I love Target! AND I wouldn’t have known about those goodies if I hadn’t seen them on Instagram first. Shout out to Stephanie!

Guess who was exhausted after all that work? haha!

I remember the year they redid all the carpets in our school. It was awful, and we weren't allowed in the building all summer. Totally unhelpful for us workaholics. 🙂 I can't wait to see more of that Neon board!

Love the chevron desk calendar! Target had those? I've got to shopping before the good stuff is gone. I'm a day late so I've already read about your neon board. LOVED IT!!!

Where did you find the cute polka dot lanterns? I'd love those in my classroom.

We are not ever allowed in our classrooms until about two weeks before school starts. Forces us to work at home and enjoy our summer off.

Yay, you found them!! I also have that Grey/Pink Chevron desk calendar you bought. I got that one a few weeks ago thought so it didn't make it in my Instagram pic. So happy you were able to snag all those bright goodies! And I totally get the car thing, mine collects "school stuff" with each new outing it feels haha.
