During back to school time, I picked up several rolls of washi tape to test them out on a few DIY classroom projects. You might remember the most popular, my Top Pop Star board. While I loved the look, I didn’t love the tape itself. It stuck to itself and I wasted a ton of it trying to get the darn roll started.
So when I was offered the chance to try out an entire box of Scotch Expressions Tape for free, I jumped at the chance. They weren’t kidding when they said they’d send me a variety box… this stuff comes in all different forms! It has washi tape, magic tape, masking tape, and shipping tape in over 100 fun colors and patterns. I literally squealed when I opened the box.
After I finished my happy dance, I got to work. I started with a plain clipboard that needed a little love. I am a midnight crafter/blogger so these pictures weren’t taken in natural light, sorry!
Putting the tape on was really easy and I was able to lift it up several times to reapply while getting it all lined up.
I went in all different directions, and then I used a box cutter to clean up the edges around the clamp. I kind of adore it!
After that, I gave my Apple charges a little love with my three favorite patterns. How cute are these? I don’t think I’ll have to argue with my hubby over chargers anymore; mine are clearly the cute ones.
I didn’t waste any tape getting the rolls started so I still have a ton leftover for other projects.
I’m thinking I’ll divide our memo kitchen memo board into sections next. I’m also thinking I’ll wrap a cute band of tape around some of our pencil cups at school. You can visit their Pinterest page to get even more DIY ideas or visit them on Facebook too.
If you want to grab your own tape, you can find retailers by clicking here. They range from $2.50 for a single roll to $5.99 for a triple pack. You can get five exclusive patterns at Office Depot to support anti-bulling in collaboration with One Direction.
You can also pick them up at stores like Target or Meijer. Just last night, I dug through a clearance bucket of Scotch Expressions Tape at Meijer after the back to school section was downsized to make way for the new seasonal displays.

I would totally use them on my chargers. I've also used them in the classroom as borders for small bulletin boards. I use them as pencil "flags" to mark pencils that belong in my classroom (not for students to take). My students also used washi tape to decorate their personal journals.
LOVE this! I would use this to add an accent and personal touch to a lot of my stationary and gift wrapping. I have seen a lot of cute packaging ideas with tape, so I think that would be a starting point for me! I think they would be perfect for sectioning off white boards in my classroom as well. So many options at home and school! 🙂
The better question would be what wouldn't I use it for, haha! I love the idea of marking chargers with it. I'm always getting confused as to which one is mine. I also have some plain plastic drawers that could use a facelift – and some serious labeling!

I LOVE this tape!!! I use it on everything!
This is so great! We did our mailboxes with another brand, and it's totally peeling and we are so sad that we wasted a ton of time and tape! We'll have to try out the Scotch and see if it works better!

I want to use this adorable tape on the edge of my desk. The veneer peeled off a couple years ago and this would be an inexpensive way to add design and color to my old teacher's desk.
I think I'm in love with your clip board!! It is so darn cute!! Just last week I was so frustrated as I was making a boggle board. I was using cheap patterned tape and it looked a mess. I would love to have to make it all over again with some NEW patterned tape!! 🙂

I love your idea to decorate my chargers. Several of my students used these colorful tapes to jazz up their Native American trifold projects. I wonder how it would work on white board or carpet? Would it leave residue?
I love this tape. I would section off my big bulletin board, decorate more clipboards, and try to fix up my old file cabinet. The possibilities are endless. Love it!
