2013 was one of the most amazing years of my life. I’m sitting here pinching myself and wondering how on earth I have been so blessed.
Personally… I’ve made new life-long teacher friends that I truly treasure through this little blogging adventure of mine. Our Teaching Tribune team is just amazing, y’all. I dream of working in a school with each and every one of them.
At home, my husband and I have finally settled into a comfortable routine as he’s begun the clinical/hospital portion of medical school and left the life-consuming textbook portion behind. Those were some dark and dreary days, my friends. We’ve slowly been turning our townhouse into our home and enjoying time together with our dogs. My sweet nephew turned one this year and that’s been a fun journey too. =)
Professionally… I’ve launched a couple successful businesses under Plaid Apple Ltd. and have been able to give back more than I ever dreamed was possible because of it. It’s truly a blessing to wake up every day and work hard at something that makes me so happy and fulfilled. At school, my sweet third graders have been so much fun to work with this year. After 9 years, I really feel like I’ve hit my groove in the classroom. I better find some wood to knock on! 😉
As I think about resolutions for the new year, I find myself wondering how I could possibly hope for more. Truly. It’s a goose-bump moment for sure. And that’s exactly what I wish for each and every one of you… May 2014 bring you more laughter than tears; more opportunities than disappointments; and more confidence than self doubt.
Whatever your goals are, The Teaching Tribune team is here to help you get started off on the right foot.

From New Year’s Eve until January 2, you can hop around our blogs and grab a *freebie* from each of us. Also be sure to make it to the send so you can enter the Rafflecopter at The Teaching Tribune for your chance to win one of these fabulous prizes.
Here’s my freebie! It’s part of my Penguin Unit for Big Kids. I am in love with my math coloring sheets so I have several of them in my store. I use them for fast-finishers on test day, easy prep centers to mix in among more prep-intensive ones, homework practice, and morning work too.
After you’ve grabbed my freebie, you are on your way to Lacey at The Fabulous Life of an Elementary Teacher!
Here’s to hoping that 2014 is our year!

Too fun! Thanks so much!!
Thanks so much for your freebie! Can't wait to use it with my 3rd graders.
Love Teaching Kids
Glad to hear your year is fabulous. Hoping 2014 is MUCH better than 2013. Thanks for the freebie. Can't wait to use it with my 3rd grade students!
I just found your blog and I love it! I taught third for 5 years before taking this last year off to stay home with my daughter. It is definitely where my heart lies! Thank you for a cute freebie!
