Hey, friends! We’ve been hit with snow here in Ohio, so I hope you’re staying warm wherever you are. We had a snow/ice day Friday and I had planned to use it to catch up on the one million and one projects I’ve started, but we can all probably guess how that turned out. I posted many of these on Instagram, which is the place to be these days.
Is it just me, or does everything hit at once? We had our new living room furniture delivered Friday morning {in the snow!} which set off an unexpected chain of events. I’ve changed all of my colors over and moved to a coastal feel so I had been slowly picking up new pieces while waiting for the furniture to get here. Once I got the furniture in and saw how awesome it looked, I decided I needed to finish redecorating immediately. Here’s the before shot so you can see how naked it all looked when I got rid of my old wall decor, pillows, and blankets.
As you can see, that wasn’t going to do so fast forward to a day of shopping, hanging art, more shopping… you get the picture. My teacher projects went straight out the window! It was sort of like If You Give A Mouse A Cookie. Fortunately, my husband understands that this is my personality so we ran with it. I am now pleased to say all of my art is hung, but I’m surrounded by photographs of strangers because I haven’t had time to get pictures printed. Such is life, ha! We had my in-laws over for dinner Friday night and my husband’s father wanted to know who the person holding the tennis racket was. I started making up names for all the strangers from the store until my mother in law gave me away, bahaha. One day I’ll get my family and friends up there… maybe after Christmas. Until then, I have a whole new group of strangers on the golf course to look at. It’s so cozy. 😉 I still have accent pillows to sew too… grr!
If you’re anything like me and doing a million things at once, here is a book you’ll love. The annual TpT winter eBooks are out and they’re packed with holiday tips and freebies to get you through December and January. Do yourself a favor and check them out. The less time we spend planning and creating, the more time we can spend enjoying the holiday hustle and bustle. I promise there’s something for everyone. I’m in the 3-6 book, but there’s a link here for the primary grades and middle/high school too.
I do have something fun planned for you next week, so be sure to check back. Hang in there, friends!
