How do you keep testing fun? Is there such a thing? We’re running out of ideas. Here’s what we did last time. Round three is exhausting. 🙁

I’m linking up with my sweet friend Christina over at Wordless Wednesday. Head on over!

As an experienced third grade teacher with a Masters in Elementary Education and K-12 reading license, I know educational resources need to be both inviting and engaging to capture students' interests. I am passionate about creating user-friendly resources to help all students learn while saving valuable prep for teachers. Read More…

(Silent) brain breaks are the only thing I've found to help alleviate the testing mood. We only test in reading and math. Next year, we are adding social studies. Yikes!

I am an assistant so I help proctor. Every year I buy Hershey kisses for the kids — one each after each test. Chocolate made Harry feel better after the dementors. 🙂 I tell them to "Kiss" their brain for getting them through another test. 🙂
We try to get the entire school and community involved in cheering on the students when state testing time comes around. Our younger students make encouraging signs to hang around the building for the grade levels that are tested, They also make up cheers, songs and encouraging messages to perform on our morning video announcements. A video is shown with wishes, testing tips, and support from teachers, administrators, and students throughout the district and community members and businesses. Everyone shows the students how much they believe in their ability to succeed.
Your sign is so cute! The K-2 kiddos line the hallways and cheer the third through fifth graders on as they head to their classrooms on testing day. They love it because it's like a parade! 🙂 Thanks for linking up! 🙂
