Hello, summer! I am super excited for a much-needed break from early mornings and long days. For those of you still in school, hang in there! 😉
One of my favorite things about summer is actually looking ahead and planning the things I’ll do differently next year. While I enjoy relaxing, I do have trouble turning my “teacher brain” off. I posted about it on my Facebook page Friday and many of you agreed with me, so this post is going to be perfect for you!
I had the opportunity to review FarFaria, a children’s book app for iPad and Android. Designed for children from 2 to 9, it has over 700 interactive stories with 5 new ones added each week. It will definitely appeal to students of all ages and has enough support built in that makes it perfect for reading together and reading alone.
What I especially liked…
Audio mode so students can listen and follow along at the same time
I also appreciated that there’s no advertising in the app or hidden fees. You can download the app and read 1 story for free every day. If you’re ready to buy, you can choose from 6 month and 12 month subscription options.
And just in case you aren’t already convinced, here are a few videos I made to really show you how it works.
First up, here’s an overview of how the app works.
This is a level 3 option using the audio mode. The pacing and expression is spot on.
Here’s an example of a sing along that would be perfect for Thanksgiving.
Finally, here’s a preschool example. I love the counting, colors, and ABC options. My nephew is turning 2 this summer and I grabbed him a subscription immediately. He’ll love it!
Of course I’m not going to show you such an amazing app without having an offer for you. It’s giveaway time! One lucky reader will scoop up a 3 month subscription to FarFaria. Just enter on the Rafflecopter below. When you visit their Facebook page, leave a comment letting them know you came over from Ms. Fultz’s Corner. Good luck!
