Hi, friends! Anyone
who knows me personally knows I have a serious addiction to shopping. I have a
particular soft spot for Tiffany, Michael Kors, and Coach. If it comes in aqua
blue, hot pink, or chocolate brown it’s probably going home with me. 😉 But today
I’m bringing you one of my newest shopping finds that WON’T break the bank.
Have you heard of
Kim, The Trashy Crafter? She makes unique jewelry out of recycled paper. Say
what?! It was actually her third grade teacher who taught her how to make paper
beads. {See, told ya third grade is the best!} Kim takes children’s books that
have been well loved ready for retirement and turns them into bracelets. Sometimes
she uses maps too, which I have my eye on because of how much we love to
travel. She works with her mom to hand cut, roll, and create beads for her
bracelets. They are totally unique and special.

Each one comes in a super cute package, so they’d make great gift for your teacher friends for back to school.
You can also find
lots of recycled craft tutorials on The Trashy Crafter blog, which could
totally inspire a few projects with your students this fall. But, before you
head over there let me show you the bracelet I scored.

Seriously, can you believe that was once a book? Mine is called “Little Red Riding Hood” which seems super appropriate, don’t you think? I was browsing her Etsy store and saw several Dr. Seuss ones too. I think it’s a great conversation piece and love that the book didn’t just get tossed. It was turned into a new form of art!
If you want to grab your own jewelry, you can visit The Trashy Crafter on Etsy and use coupon code TC2014 when you check out to take 15% off. Woohoo! There’s more than just bracelets, too.
Are you ready for the best part? One lucky reader is going to win a bracelet! This is mine and you can’t have it, but you can win your own. Which book is used will be a surprise. 🙂
