How cute is this spring craft for your early learners? My three year old is always happy to help his momma with craft projects, so I modified it a little more than I would have with kiddos who are a bit older.
To make it work with a toddler, I opted to cut the orange pieces out of paper instead of drawing them on. I really liked this mixed-material look, plus Carter was able to help me glue the pieces on this way. He also needed my help coloring in the lines for the belly. With a toddler I like using a printable to get started, but older kiddos could draw their own tree branch and leaves. I love how each one has its own personality!

While you can use paint, I highly recommend washable stamps for the prints. I like that stamps show the fine details of his prints, aren’t as messy as paint, and wash off easily with a baby wipe. Apparently they’re also easy to do while eating a snack. 😉

These make great keepsakes to send home for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, or Grandparents’ Day too. I know I cherish them as a parent! If you want to download my template (without the date for perpetual use), you can grab it in my design shop.
